Allons-y Allonzo!

I love Mauritius and loved growing up there.  But it is unfortunately very underused when it comes to art and culture.  We do have two UNESCO Heritage sites – one linked to slavery and one of indentured labour -, a couple of museums not always in good shape, some scarce art galleries, a few spots where local musicians can perform… But overall, we have sooooo little when compared to what our melting pot of cultures and spectacular natural environment could bring in terms of artistic output.

So, I have been binging in terms of museums, exhibitions, film and music festivals and just overall art and culture.  From taking painting classes with an artist, to the yearly film festival in Syros to the music festival in Paris, from museums around Cannes to the Guggenheim Bilbao museum or the museums in Paris, to artists’ open exhibitions, to the mind-blowing open expo space 59 Rue de Rivoli, to spending a full day in a cinema watching Godard movies…. Or just walking about in all these places and mingling with street artists….

I believe that art has a joy multiplier effect.  I am overindulging and loving it.
